Financial Technology (or FinTech) is a fast-growing economic industry composed of companies that use technology to make financial services more efficient. Financial technology companies are generally startups founded with the purpose of disrupting incumbent financial systems and corporations that rely less on software. This lecture series has been curated by Huy Nguyen Trieu, a Resident Expert and friend of the Entrepreneurship Centre at Oxford Saïd.

FinTech from a Founder’s Perspective

Is there a secret to building a Fintech startup? Is it different to launch a startup in finance rather than in another space? The founders of Duedil (“Britain’s answer to Bloomberg”) and of Algomi (winner of “Best Financial Technology Innovation”) will share their insights as founders of high growth Fintech startups, and will discuss both their successes and challenges.

Speakers include:

Damian Kimmelman, Founder of DueDil, a private company information database

Stu Taylor, Founder of Algomi, a bond information network

Huy Nguyen Trieu, Author, blogger at Disruptive Finance, and Resident Expert in FinTech at Oxford Saïd Business School
