The Editor of FStech Magazine, Scott Thompson, would like to invite you and other financial services guests to this roundtable to share and discuss one of the most vital topics of today, Data Compliance.
Agenda
Data continues to grow at an alarming rate, and many organisations are struggling to get a grip on data regulations, making the risks of non-compliance or security breaches more likely.
The rapid rise in business data, which is on a trajectory to grow 56% year-on-year, means that the volume of information businesses need to store, manage and report on is becoming more difficult to govern. Additionally, the types of data that need to be captured are increasingly complex, and include instant messaging (IM), text, voice and social media interactions – so-called ‘unstructured data’.
Many businesses simply do not yet have sophisticated enough technology, tools and policies in place to support this data, and, inevitably, legislation changes vary across borders and can expand rapidly (there are over 100,000 legal requirements relevant to multi-national companies).
However, strategies must be found. The alternative is to watch data management costs skyrocket, and to face huge potential fines and long-term damage.
This invitation only event will discuss the issues facing the financial sector and host an open, peer to peer conversation under participant veto on:
– legal obligations for governing data worldwide and across EMEA
– likely forthcoming regulation changes and solutions
– business policies for governing and managing information
– the growth in unstructured data and how to tackle it
– challenges posed by new communication channels and social media
– monitoring data access – who, what and where?
