On May 30th, let’s welcome Tom Blomfield, Cofounder & CEO at Monzo.
“Monzo isn’t your typical banking app. It’s powerful, fast, and beautiful” is the tagline you can read on their website.
The fintech startup was created in February 2015 to build a bank that is “as smart as your phone”: real-time spending notifications, zero fees (even abroad!), free and instant transfers to other Monzo users, clear budgeting tools and an API to build with.
You can now join Monzo’s Beta by downloading their app.
The team raised $45.05M – and successfully raised money through two crowdfunding campaigns on Crowdcube, raising £1M and £2.5M.
