The Livery Hall, Grocers Hall Princes Street London EC2R 8AD

The speed of change and development in China in the connected fields of Fintech, Alternative/Internet Finance and Big Data has been phenomenal. In recently published reports, four of the top ten Fintech companies worldwide are Chinese, and companies named within the top 50 in KPMG’s recent China Fintech Report are now becoming established in UK and bringing innovation and expertise to Europe to support the already flourishing Fintech industry here.
The bilateral relationship between China and the UK has flourished in the last decade, and both sides recognise the global significance and strategic importance of stronger UK-China links. This event, hosted as part of a series of fringe events during Innovate Finance Global Summit 2017, will explore, through leaders from business and academia in China and London, the extraordinary progress being made in Crowdfunding, Financial Technology and Big Data, enabling rapid progress in financial and economic planning as well as greatly improved approaches to measuring and monitoring economic and financial performance.
The expert panel assembled for this session will update those attending on latest cutting edge Fintech and big data developments in key Chinese centres, as well as looking ahead to future developments. They will debate the implications for all stakeholders who need to stay abreast of trends shaping the actions of governments, investors and corporations, and who want to take advantage of new ways of planning, financing and managing – whether working at the level of whole economies, or individual companies. The panel will also discuss ways to forge partnerships between key Chinese centres of business and academic excellence, and innovative Fintech companies in the UK.
